Doug R. Brewster is a highly competent fabricator who specializes in the design and production of unique scientific instrumentation and equipment. His expertise stems from over 10 years of scientific instrumentation design, fabrication and repair at Indiana University’s Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and Cal Poly’s Biological Sciences Department.  Prior to joining the sciences Doug amassed an impressive set of skills over 20 years of working various technical jobs and running his own machining and fabrication shop. His ability to to realize client needs within the fiscal constraints of the research institution make him an asset in any research or teaching environment.

• Expert-level skills in the design, fabrication, construction of unique scientific and research equipment with accuracy and precision using oral or written communications, or computer-generated models, blueprints, or schematics.
• Professionally trained operator of machine tools including CNC and manual lathes, mills, welders, plasma cutters, torches, sheet metal brakes, shears, punches and other precision tools.
• Knowledge of characteristics and limits of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous alloy metals, wood, plastics, glass and their applications in scientific instruments.
